Advisor
Students must choose an advisor according to the existing procedure in the department to which they have been admitted.
The advisor should be a faculty member of Tel Aviv University in the regular track, with the rank of lecturer or above.
In special cases, and at the recommendation of the departmental committee, a scientist from another academic institution with the rank of lecturer or above may be appointed as an additional advisor, with the approval of the University committee.
Secondary advisor
A member of the Tel Aviv University faculty or of another university who is not in the regular track, or a researcher from a non-academic research institute, may serve as "secondary advisor", subject to the following guidelines:
- Must have a PhD.
Addition as a "secondary advisor" requires the approval of the University committee. The application for approval should include the researcher's curriculum vitae and an up-to-date list of publications. A separate application will be submitted with regard to each student.
The researcher's name will appear on the student's thesis as "secondary advisor", giving the name of the institution / research institute to which he or she belongs.
