MSc Study Track in Plant Sciences
General
The Plant Sciences track trains students in all fields of Plant Sciences, including genetic engineering and molecular and developmental plant biology, plant biotechnology, plant ecology , plant diseases and interactions between plants and other organisms. Graduates of the track are entitled to the degree of MSc in Plant Sciences.
Admission
Students who have completed in their undergraduate studies with a final grade of 80 or above may be admitted to the graduate program in Plant Sciences. All students will go through an admissions committee. The admissions committee will determine whether the student will be accepted for graduate studies, and whether he or she will be required to take supplementary courses beyond the requirements of the track.
Preliminary requirements
At least one of these laboratories: biochemistry, microbiology, cell molecular biology, genetics and plant physiology and advanced laboratory course.
Study program
Scope of studies for a master's degree - 30 semester hours
- Required faculty courses - 6 s/h
- Required track courses:
a. "Statistical principles in experiments" 0400.6000 5 s/h
b. One of the two courses "Selected issues in Plant Sciences", A or B, on a scale of two credits.
c. In addition, students must choose at least two of the courses from the list.
